Charging Receptacle replaced, more problems

I have an EZGO MPT 1000, 48v, year is 2000 or 2001. While plugged in, the cord was pulled (long story!) and the charging receptacle was broken. The cart was working just fine, but not able to be charged.

I had a service company come out and they replaced the charging receptacle, but the cart no longer goes in reverse and goes forward about 3 mph. They came out again and couldn't figure out what was wrong and wanted to bring it into their shop.

The replacement part they used is 73051G30. When I look this up, it says this is for a TXT, Medalist, and some other models but no mention of a MPT. I don't see any receptacle that is for an older MPT 1000. Could this be an issue or part of the problem? (on the invoice they wrote down that the cart is a 36v TXT...)

Any insight would be great, but I am not mechanically inclined at all! I called another repair shop and left a message on Thursday and haven't heard back yet, but I do think I will need someone who knows what they are doing to look at it. I use it every day, and don't want it to disappear into a shop for weeks, 3 mph is better than a wheelbarrow!

Do you know if it's charging the batteries? Worst thing to happen is to kill a $700 +/- set of batteries while waiting for a solution.
