2011 48v EZGO RXV
Hello buggies gone wild newbie here!
Last night i picked up a 2011 EZGO 48vRXV for practically nothing. I started digging into it last night and found the previous owner had attempted some sort of repair ( still trying to figure out what he was trying to achieve). The majority of the electrical components have been removed and at first glance the resistor and cage are missing? I spent a few hours last night searching the web but wasn't able to come up with any wiring diagrams for that cart, would anyone be able to help? I would even settle for a few pictures of a similar cart just to get me started. Ive attached a couple of pictures of what im working with. Thanks Nik |

Start with this and see if it helps you any. Whoever did this didn't know what they were doing.
I would start out with a brand new main wiring harness and a accessory wiring harness. Get a new Curtis controller and try to find someone with the brackets, heat shield, and resistor that your going to need. This way it will save you a lot of time. The first thing to know about RXV is never splice into the wiring. |

Whelp it looks like you definitely have purchased yourself a project! IMO you've got yourself a bit of a mess and will have a time figuring out how to solve it.
Not trying to leave you out in the cold, however you'll need that wiring diagram to make sure you have all the wires running to the correct place first and then make sure to hook up the controller properly. From experience, one wrong move with that controller and you'll have a paperweight. Keep us updated to troubleshoot along the way. |

Re: 2011 48v EZGO RXV
Just sayin'. Messing around with a Rxv that way will result in fried sensors and a friend controller. Plus, the controller is super picky about everything being just as it should be, or it won't even try to run. Whereas the older carts are far more tolerant.

Just looking at the wiring I would think the controller is history. This cart can run it's just going to need some new parts.

Re: 2011 48v EZGO RXV
Yea, the butchering done to that harness pretty much guarantees that controller is history. It's not upgradable either, even if it was still good. Like usgicollector said, try to find a Curtis 1206AC-52XX (01/11/21/31) controller and you might want to just buy a new harness for that Curtis controller. It's going to take time to repair the existing harness, and if you miss something as simple as a wire for the reverse buzzer, it'll fry the new controller. The RXV is a computer on wheels, with a drive by wire control system.
Maybe you're close to someone that can help. Atlanta is about 2.5 - 3 hours south of me, but I'm dealing with pneumonia right now. A diagnostic handset would be a good thing to have access to. Bob |
