Tin coated copper lugs vs copper lugs
When I originally ordered the lugs to make my own cables I didn't realize that I ordered "Tin coated copper lugs for marine applications" are those better than the regular copper coated lugs?
Wanting to get my cables made I ordered more of the regular copper lugs tonight and they should be here by Friday. I'm sure that there is a difference in the resistance of them but haven't found much that will help me. I am wanting to make the cables only once and want to get them right the first time, what do you think is better for the golf cart? Thank you |

Re: Tin coated copper lugs vs copper lugs
Tin coated copper is preferred over "raw" copper. The tin coating will better prevent corrosion.

Re: Tin coated copper lugs vs copper lugs
Tin coating will also eliminate the oxidation "tarnishing" that causes bright copper to turn dull brown.

Re: Tin coated copper lugs vs copper lugs
Thank you, I'll use the tin coated ones then, and put the copper on the shelf.
