87 unez-go
I have a 1987 with new 4ga wires & new batteries. When you touch the accelerator it jumps. It goes from 0 to next to wide open,I've checked for burnt resisters, all are in one piece & seem ok.I checked accelerator board& it jumps when the first lug is touched.I upgraded to 48v but I unhooked it because it's not safe the way it is( tries to pop a wheelie)
Thanks for any help,Hookm |

Re: 87 unez-go
This may seem like a dumb question but.....What does it do when you push it all the way to the floor? Does it slow down? Very likely you have a connection wrong. I have seen people get those speed board cables backwards before...even the resistor coil cables. Double and tripple check all your connections.

It goes faster when you floor it,the wires looked like they were origional & I labeled them when I changed them.

Does it run ok when you have the 48 volts unhooked? Just trying to narrow it down here. |

Re: 87 unez-go
It sounds like the speed limit switch that controlls the low speed resister is not working, or your speed limit switches are hooked up to the wrong solenoid by-passing your low speed resistor. It may also be something hooked up wrong off the resistor board. I will post some electric cart wiring diagrams today, I believe I have one that will work for your cart.
