Default EZGO TXT Series Motor Upgrade advice

2002 EzGo txt series cart with the following upgrades complete

SR48500 Alltrax
all new 1/0 cables
MZJ400A solenoid
Super Duty SW202
6 new USBattery US 8VGC XC2
Digital meter on dash
Lester Summit 2 charger

Runs about 17 mph on flat street with stock tires, motor and no lift

I may put a little bigger tires and rims on it later but don't want anything that requires a lift, want to keep it low to the ground because of our yard and property has terrace rows and don't want to raise the center of gravity.

Will be used mostly in campgrounds and around the house.

Would like it a little faster but want to keep plenty of torque due to the fact that it does have the back seat, so I may put heavy duty springs on it later.

Everything that I have upgraded was what Scotty recommended and he recommended the AMD Beast motor 7126

When I look up that motor it looks like it is a speed motor and from what I've read i don't necessarily want a speed motor where I live?

I think that Scotty also recommended the FSIP Torque motor Stock # FS-EZtorque

I like the speed on that one, I just want to make sure that it will have plenty of torque for my needs.

What are your thoughts and recommendations?

Also, how long do you think that my current motor will hold up to the 48v that i'm now giving it?

Thank you all

The only ones I have experience with are my stock motor, which held up well with what's in my sig, and the AMD 7126 RAPTOR HS motor. My stock motor would get borderline too hot when I really pushed it by driving with passengers for long runs on a somewhat hilly route on weekends. I only upgraded because I wanted a little more speed, and hoped more Hp would run cooler. I don't really have any flats, but I'm definitely 25 or more on stock tires.

I would imagine that our terrain is probably very similar since I'm only a little over 3 hrs west of you in Grant Al
So you're happy with your 7126 raptor hs motor and it has plenty of torque with passengers on the hills?

Thank you

Yes, I'm very satisfied, and am sure with 20.5" tires I'd be able to kill me and anyone dumb enough to fly downhill with me with the pedal to the floor.

You'll have to Google the difference between the two motors. I read once, but forgot.

I don't mind getting the one that you have, I just thought that I've read that you don't want to put a speed motor in a stall on hills because it would burn it up but I guess that if you have enough power then maybe it won't stall?

I also thought that I read that as you start gaining speed downhill that you should let off of the throttle because the motor will start out running the voltage that you are sending it??

Just asking because I don't want to burn up a new motor.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Just be careful the first time you get over 30ish mph. Steering can be a little harder to control, and is magnified with rear passengers. Mine may be even worse with two extra batteries.

Understood, I have the switch set on the SR48500 so that it is around factory speed when I have it off.

So you would go with the same setup as you have again if you had to do it over again?

Thanks

well Dwells....I jumped in here a little late, but I too am running the 7126 Raptor HS motor.....and like you are at 48v, and a SERIES 48500 setup. AND i'm lifted, 23" tires, back seat.....and I have plenty of torque....and with the taller tires, I have a top speed of 30 mph and will do that all day long. with a single person on the cart....I have a 28 to 30 mile range.
