non-flip to flip

Hey fellas, new to the sight and need a little advice. I have a rear seat on my ezgo with every thing the flip seat has (grab bar, big foot platform, elongated hand rails) except the flip seat. Any one ever modified their non-flip to a flip?
I think if I could find just the seat platform I could do it, but can't find anything except the whole 300.00 seat and frame together. I'd love to convert it so that I could carry full gas cans down to the dock to fill up the boat.

Piano hinge and a base (metal, wood, etc) to mount the cushion to?

Of course you would have to fab up a 'stop' of some sort so the seat base wouldn't fold all the way down when flipped to the 'bed' position.
