Default 2001 EZ GO TXT F&R Replacement

i have 2001 TXT Series cart. I replaced the F&R switch because i was smelling a burning and discovered the posts were corroded. Reconnected wiring exactly the way it was before. Cart will go forward but not reverse. Solenoid clicks. Batteries are a year old but well maintained and fully charged. i am thinking it may be the controller but i am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

looks like i was a little premature on my post. i was able to get the cart to work in reverse intermittently. i realized you could adjust the F&R switch. i maed a slight adjustment for reverse and all is right with the world now. if anything else pops up i will update my post.

Welcome.

If you have any "adjustment" it means you removed the bracket, and not just the FNR. The way I adjust mine is to place the FNR exactly halfway between F and R, which is Neutral. Then I slide the bracket side to side until the FNR handle is exactly straight up in N. Failure of the FNR to reach either F or R stops will result in overheating and a short-lived FNR.

Hopefully you bought a HD FNR?

Appreciate the suggestion. I did get the HD. I will try this and report back. Thanks

You can just move it to F and R and visually confirm the cam rotates to the stops. It doesn't have to be perfect, but does need to go to the stops.
