Speed?
I upgraded my 1996 EZGO TXT Series cart and I have it running 36volts. It maxes out at 16mph my question is when I switch over to 48 volt in the next few weeks will it get me up to 20mph?
I a running Alltrax Sr48500 controller, 400 amp solenoid, HD F&R, plum quick bandit rewound for torque, and 6 trojan six volt t 105s. Batteries show 38.2 volts when fully charged. 5" lift, 22 inch tires. |

Re: Speed?
48v will get a 33% increase in voltage, torque, and speed.
16+5.33= 21.33 mph based on assumption that your 16.00 mph speed was totally accurate. According to the math alone, you should be good. Tire rolling resistance and wind resistance increases with speed. |

Re: Speed?
And it's not linear, but at lower speeds you'll be really close. After those upgrades, you'll have a really powerful drive train, ready for larger tires, if speed is important. With the motor in my sig, I get around 25 mph on flats. I don't have anything flat long enough where I live to be sure, but it is less than 30 and more than 25 on stock tires. If you go with larger tires, be sure to monitor motor temperature. Mine on stock tires with three additional passengers would get borderline too hot when we drove nonstop up and down gentle hills. You can use an IR gun.

Re: Speed?
I have 22" on it now so I'm sure I'll be around 20 mph when done. Thanks for all the help to everyone. I'll update it when I get it all put in next week or so.

Re: Speed?
Got the 48 volts hooked up yesterday and during my test run hit 20 mph with me and 2 of my sons (5 year olds) on it. I am hooking up the on board charger today and will up date once I get a full charge on all the batteries. The new added 2 T105s haven't been charged by me yet. The cart definitely has more power from start up. Torque is way better.
