2011 RXV Navitas controller
Hey all. First post here. I tried to do a search but didn’t see my questions answered.
My wife bought me a 2011 RXV for my birthday to use at our lake house. The cart is currently stock(or so I think, it accelerates very fast) but I would like to add some pretty common add ons. Planned: -Rear seat/dual action leaf springs -12-14” tires with 20” tires(no lift) Considering: 600 amp Navitas controller The reason why I am considering the controller for several reasons. - Our house top of a significant hill and by the time I add larger diameter tires and a rear seat (and load it with 4 people), I am concerned about stress on the cart getting up the hill repeatedly. - Reliability issues with current controller - The ability to turn the cart down when the teenagers are driving it. My questions with the controller are: -Should I add replace the solenoid with a bigger one? If so, what model is recommended? Current solenoid is a Thrombetta that appears to be rated at 400 amps for 30 seconds -Should I replace the battery cables with a 2 awg set? If I am doing this, should I cut and re-solder 2 awg motor wires as well. I don’t really care about top speed, I would likely set the cart at 20mph max for adult use, I just want to make sure there is enough torque to get the cart around loaded full of adults and coolers. (And maybe and occasional fish tale in the gravel, we all have to have fun) Thanks all! |

Re: 2011 RXV Navitas controller
A Navitas controller is better than the Danaher controller as far as features are concerned. Otherwise, the stock Curtis RXV controller used in the 2012.5 RXVs is better

What he is telling you is that your buying the wrong controller. You should be looking at a 350amp Curtis RXV controller.

Re: 2011 RXV Navitas controller
I have a 2011 with the Navitas controller. I haven't touched the solenoid but did add 2 awg battery cables. It runs great with lots of torque.

Re: 2011 RXV Navitas controller
The currently installed trombetta solenoid is rated for 250a continuous duty. It has been pretty good in the rxvs.

Re: 2011 RXV Navitas controller
Seems like a lot of work and really don’t even see that controller available. Is there a reason I should stay away from the plug and play Navitas?
