2009 Reconditioned 2+2 Help
Just bought a 2005 -recondtioned car and a bit new to owning a golf car, my 2002, refurbished 2007 Freedom, bought 3 weeks before Ike was submerged in the surge for 1.5 days; dealer has it, wants to give me $100 for it. Not sure if I should take it and forget about it or bring it home and try to sell it as is. It looks good but I kinda know the damage saltwater can do. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks to all.

Hello bayou and Welcome to the forum.
It's worth double that (or more) on the retail market to the public. |

Bayou-Don't let that cart go for $100.!! Many have been the start of a good rebuild project. Send a PM to CCJohn-He rebuilt an IKE cart and it turned out great. Run a check on his information as I think there are some pics of the rebuild. He will walk you through the process as to what is needed. I know because he has bailed me out on a couple of projects.
Welcome & good luck. |

Re: 2009 Reconditioned 2+2 Help
You might be able to sell it for a few more bucks on your own.
My question is why are you calling a 2005 a 2009? It doesn't matter when a cart is rebuilt - The year model doesn't change. Factory rebuild centers don't change the year when we dealers buy them. However, it is unfortunate when a dealer 'upsales' a rebuilt cart by calling it what it isn't. Whatever you do, don't try to register it as a 'newer' model. That'll come back to haunt you... |

E-Z-GO does not change the year when they do a factory rebuild. They keep the same serial number and print the date of the rebuild on the label.

Re: 2009 Reconditioned 2+2 Help
I would think the dealer calling this a real reach beyond ethics. Anyone who understands the process looks at a serial number and you can be hauled in to court for misrepresentation if you have sold it based on the rebuild year. In court we have a word for embelishing a product called "puffery" This allows saying "it is in great shape and the tires are pretty new and it runs better than a new one". Not lying but embelishing. To call this cart a 2009 is far beyond that!! The minute the serial number is checked you lose !!!
