Default replacement Motor issue?

Hi everyone. Have a weird question for the group.

I completely restored a 3 wheel ezgo golf cart over 2 years ago. The last part was purchasing a replacement motor to give it a little more speed.

Settled on getting a D & D motor and purchased a compatible motor from them. installed it and worked like a champ for 2 weeks. Then I noticed when accelerating there was a loud revving noise and would accelerate. the noise became too much so I put back on the original motor and no noise at all. When I took off the D & D motor there wasn't any wear and tear on the unit at all. I did move the rubber thing that sits in the female part like youtube videos recommended.

I am completely stumped as to what could be causing the new motor to be making the noise?

Keep in mind I did check the new motor and it was complete flush and the bolts were completely tight so there wasn't any separation.

Any ways wondering if anyone has had this issue and what steps you took to resolve?

D & D makes a heck of a great product, used about 20 of them over the years, never had any issue, have you contacted them with your issue?

they mentioned taking the lower portion of the motor apart and see if anything was inside and putting the motor back on as maybe it wasn't seated properly. was hoping someone had previous experience as this entire scenario is very odd. I am just surprised my old motor went back on and performed without question.
