Motor cuts out while under load
My cart just started doing this. It appears to run fine at minimal pedal, however if you "floor it" or go up a steep hill the motor will cut out. You can immediately let completely off the pedal and then press it on slightly and the cart will go again. I checked and some of the terminals are a little corroded, but for the most part everything looks good. I know corrosion can jack things up so I plan to clean them. But, do you guys think that is likely the issue or is there a bigger problem? Thanks

What drive system?
What voltage battery pack? Stock or upgraded? ITS or Pot-Bax throttle? |

Yikes! Yes! 72v, Series, Upgraded. I'm not sure but I think its a potbox. It has a plunger that goes into the box when the pedal is pressed.

A plunger into a tube is a ITS throttle.

Re: Motor cuts out while under load
What make/model controller?
ITS throttle signal might be going out of range as it approaches WOT, but 2/3 of ITS circuit is in controller, so need to know what controller to know what the signal ought to be. If it is an Alltrax controller, pedal up is 10V and pedal down is 6V (as measured between the black and white wires at the controller. Moisture in the pedal box will do strange things ti ITS signal. Also, the 4-pin in-line connector between grey cable from pedal box to cart's wiring harness causes all sorts of issues. Best to eliminate it and butt=splice or solder joint the four wires. |

It is an Alltrax 500a. Thanks for the info on that. I will check those numbers.

Re: Motor cuts out while under load
Full disclosure; Is this on your recently converted lithium cart? Which is more around 82-83V fully charged?
