Default RXV Charger clicking

Hey guys, I have a 2009 RXV 48V that I just replaced the batteries on a few nights ago. When I plugged it in last night after riding around the charger kept clicking on and off for 20-30 seconds. I woke up this morning and the LED indicator on the charger was solid green meaning a 100% charge. It's the standard charger, I don't have the info with me. Any rhyme or reason why it's doing that?

Thanks for the help!

The last sound you hear from that charger should be the sound of it hitting the bottom of the dumpster. Those chargers are terrible, and your concern is probably the most common complaint at the end of the chargers life. Get something better, don't pour money into having that one rebuilt. It's not user serviceable, and no parts are offered for the user to buy to attempt repair. I have a whole mountain of those dead out back.

If so, cgtech can you recommend another one for me...?

SC-48 & all variety of QE are all the same garbage, in slightly different looking package.

Check the site sponsors, there are several options out there.

CG, if you're lucky, another sound can happen: some sizzle and nifty colored smoke can emit from the case.

The one I have is in a black box from EZGO. Is there one that you recommend over others?

DPI, Eagle Performance Series, etc all better than those QEs, ERICs, or SCs.

They not only have smarter multi-stage charging algorithms, but can also maintain a battery pack over the winter (the stock QE, SC-48, etc only charge and quit, don't float or trickle charge) and are capable of boosting a pack that's dropped well below the threshold where the stock charger won't even bother.
