Default EZGO TXT Stops at low speeds

Hello first time posting in a forum. I been going thru the forums to see if anyone else has the same issue as me. Tried as much trouble shooting to my best ability before posting, any help will be appreciated. I have a 2000 EZ GO TXT and the issue I'm having is the golf cart cart will at run a full throttle all day long, but if I cruise at half throttle for for a few minutes it shuts down, It has new batteries, I changed the solenoid, new forward and reverse switch. So far I've check all the wiring everything is nice and tight nothing melted a don't see any wires shorted. I'm leaning on maybe my controller is toast? also when the key is at the off position and press the pedal the cart will move slowly. Sorry I'm new to this. Man I am stumped. Thanks in advance.

First we need to know which drive system you have. 2000 could be series, DCS or PDS. Under the seat, is there a rod that goes from the fnr handle to a black box on the passenger side or a round silver puck behind the shifter? If it is the puck pull the controller cover and look at the controller and how many connections are there?

The cart draws more amperage at slower speeds. This higher amp draw does create more component heat. In the case where the controller is aged and on it's way out the heat generated by high amp flow increases significantly to the point that it easily goes into thermal shutdown until it cools.
Replace the controller with a new Alltrax.
Easily ID the drive system type using the information and flow charts at cartsunlimited.net

Thanks for the response, @kgsc yes mine has the black box under the passenger side. @scottyb thank you as well, I figured that looked to be the issue, and would that cause it to crawl slowly with the key off? Or is that another issue all together? Thanks
