Default brake pedal doesnt return all the way

so i have put brand new brake cables and adjusted the rear brakes.. cart stops pretty good now.. the only thing is the brake pedal doesnt return very well.. i have to use my left foot and slide it behind the pedal and pull up on it while driving.. whats the cause of this??? possibly the braking hardware in the drums need to be replaced???

Remove, clean, and lubricate the pedal pivot bolt.. They're notorious for rusting up and causing a sticky pedal.. Also, when the pedal is removed, check the condition of the pedal return spring.. A weak or broken return spring will cause the problem you're having..

A lot of times I put a little heat on that bolt underneath, then I take a 9/16 wrench and loosen the bolt a little as well as lubricate!!! That always helps me.

You will probably find the plastic bushings worn out as well.
On the Yamazuki I replaced the stock bolt with one from an old caster/wheel assy. It had a grease fitting in the end of it and now I can hit it with grease when serviced. (Factory should do this)

You can also make your own.
Drill down through the middle of your stock bolt from the head end with 1/8" drill bit to where the middle of the pedal sits.
Drill 1/8" hole from the side into the first hole.
At the bolt head end, drill and tap correct thread size for a zirk fitting. reassy and grease.
