Default Ezgo voltage reducer

I have an ezgo txt 36v series cart. I just installed a 30 amp reducer and when I went back out to the cart with everything off it was quit warm. I don't know if I got a bad reducer or what.. i had a 10 amp one and it never got warm like this. The reducer I have in there now is a 4 wire one. Should I ditch this one and go with one with a trigger wire.

Just run a relay to the switch. I have the 30 amp reducer too and no problems. I ran a relay from the switch to the reducer and it runs like a dream

did you wire it directly to the pack such that is ON at all times? that's what it fells that you did. there are multiple different ways to wire it up so that's its only powered up when you need or want it on.
