2009 Ezgo TXT Brake Adjustment
Put a new set brakes on my 2009 TXT cart. After installing the new shoes the drums will not go back on. Any pointers here?

Re: 2009 Ezgo TXT Brake Adjustment
Make sure the two shoes are correct. There is a front and a rear. And I believe top and bottom of them needs to be correct. They are different. And make sure the adjuster star wheel is correct.

Turn the adjuster all the way back in.

It took me a minute to find this. My cart is a 91 marathon.

I feel like I have everything on right. I have adjusted the star nut all the way in and the hub still will not go on.

Re: 2009 Ezgo TXT Brake Adjustment
Sid.....I have a feeling I know your problem....your hubs are worn.....you just put new shoes on, ASSUMING you have the new shoes installed correctly......you need to be able to get over the "edge" of the hub that wasn't worn away at the edge of the hub. if that's the case, you could just use a "flapper wheel" to remove that material to get rid of the lip that you are trying to get over or take them to a machine shop.

So I got them cleaned up and was able to slide them on about 3/4 the way on At this point I will have to force them on. Should they fit loose or are they suppose to be that tight. With saying this I have the adjustment all the way in as well.
