1997 TXT will not move
1997 TXT Golf Cart previously would run at normal speed but would then act like battery was running down but batteries were okay. This was after a couple of minutes driving. Charged batteries and then cart would not move but for a couple of inches forward and reverse. Replaced solenoid. Has a 1206 controller rebuilt in 2009. Raised rear tires off ground and tires do turn when accelerator depressed in both forward and reverse. Manual turn one wheel and the other wheel turns in opposite direction. Put tires back on the ground and no movement. Battery pack shows 37.6 volts.

Re: 1997 TXT will not move
Check individual batteries for voltage.
Pack voltage of 37.6 is just above 80% according to Johnnieb's chart (attached) |

Re: 1997 TXT will not move
Also battery voltage under load when go pedal pressed.
Age of batteries Voltage of each battery along with batteries pack voltage after charged and sitting unused for 12 hours. These will give us indication of battery health |

Motor turns. Put in reverse and very slowly backed out of garage. When switched to forward wouldn't budge but acted like it wanted to. When tires off ground both rear tires turn when accelerator depressed with no problem.

Re: 1997 TXT will not move
Just checked batteries after sitting over night not being charged. They are as follows: 4.2, 6.31, 4.30, 4.93, 4.20, 5.04. The battery pack is showing 29.0. These are Deka Pro Master Batteries and are about 7 years old. The terminal locations on these batteries are raised. Are they supposed to be or are they swelled out? Not flat like most car batteries. Some look more swelled than others.

Re: 1997 TXT will not move
Put new batteries in your cart and it will likely run normally.
You have one battery gasping its last breaths and five boat anchors. |

Re: 1997 TXT will not move
Replaced old batteries with 6 new ones and now runs great. Batteries were in worse shape than expected once removed.
