I have a ez-go TXT I'm wanting to replace the batteries.I want to get these batteries
https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b...tteries+&pos=5

But my question is should I go with a deep cycle battery instead?

Thank you

Absolutely want to get deep cycle batteries for golf cart use.

The price looks a bit steep on the NAPA batteries. Might find 12V golf cart batteries for less some other local vendor.

I got my Exide batteries at Rural King. Sam's club and Walmart sell golf cart batteries.

I really think they are both the same battery. They both weigh 85 lbs, same as a Trojan T-1275.

Oops! I didn't read the O'Reilly description closely enough. It is a GC12 and about $85 cheaper than the Napa. (Local pricing may vary)

So do you think those O’Reilly batteries would work?

I'm not fond of using 12V batteries for a 48V battery pack (prefer 6 x 8V), but they will do the job. They appear to be 150AH, which is the same capacity as the T-1275.

That depends - is your favorite color green?

Welcome to the forum Mauricio. The green question is my way of saying to get the right answer you have to ask the right question.

What batteries will "work" depends largely on how the cart will be used. It is hard to determine what battery specs to shoot for without a basic description of how you use the cart. The cart with the oversized tires and hauls 4 adults around the countryside has far higher battery req's than the retiree that does a 200 yard mailbox run once a day. I can put 3 12v lawn tractor batteries in my cart and run it out from the garage to the barn, so they "work" for that. Probably a no fly zone in most peoples worlds. Once you get your needs established, then you can make better informed decisions on your battery purchase based on your budget, life expectancy of the batteries, charging options, future mods planned, etc.

I have both ends of the cart world in my barn now. A nice 48v cart that putting $1500 of premium batteries in makes perfect sense to someone whose budget allows that. I also have a beater 36v cart that it would be blatantly stupid to put more than a set of $300 take outs into. Every owner and cart has their own solutions. Good luck with your purchase.

I totally agree with that "mostly", even for the "beater" that will never play a game of golf. If you put the cheap "not golf cart rated" batteries in there, dont expect 5 years from them. I'll say that I have totally ran a cart I drove to work every day from "the best of the rejects" from the used cart battery pallet, just the best of what was about to be scrapped. But they were all actually golf cart batteries, not "heavy duty" other batteries. (Using "heavy duty" car batteries is a waste of time).

I think both of the batteries the OP originally listed are suitable for golf cart use. Not what I would "prefer", but suitable for use for golf cart applications.
