Default EZGO PDS - Diode

Recently bought a 2000 PDS that needed a new controller. While replacing the controller with a rebuild and completing step by step check/diagnostic on overall system made the mistake of leaving the diode attached across the small posts on solenoid. Ended up frying the diode on the solenoid. Resistor seems fine. Cart runs as it should without the diode (seems a tad slow but it has older batteries, alignment issues, and silt tires). Trying to locate a new diode assuming this PDS needs one but having difficulty in locating one. Diodes I’m finding online either don’t say they’re ok for a PDS or say they’re not to be used on a PDS/DCS.

Anyone know if the diode is necessary on a PDS and if so, where I can get a replacement one?

Thanks!!

No diode is shown on the stock PDS schematic, but there is one internal to the stock PDS controller, and it doesn't hurt to install another one on the solenoid's small posts. (Banded end towards the yellow wire)

Thanks Johnnie. I assume any of the 1 or 3 amp diodes will work? Even the ones that say they’re not necessarily for a PDS/DCS cart? Everything is stock in the cart as far as electrical/motor.

Any diode rated at 1A (or more) and 100V (or higher) will work on the stock PDS solenoid coil.

If you ever replace it with a higher ampacity solenoid, use a 3A diode.
