2016 Ezgo RXV Rear End Noise When Braking
Hey all, I can seem to find a solid answer to my issue and maybe someone can chime in that had a similar experience.
I just lifted my my cart with the Jake's 6" spindle kit and added 23x10x14 wheels and tires. I love it and rides awesome but when I apply the brakes to stop a loud clunking noise come from the rear. Sounds like the rear gears or motor brake. I really don't know what it could be. I'll really appreciate any insight and thanks in advance. |

What year? And take a pic of where the axle bolts to the leaf spring.

The lift kit stuff is pretty hard on that style axle mount. With the cart turned off, have a friend "push & pull back & forth" while you check for problems underneath, and check those pins on the front of the axle, they will rattle in the mounts.

Check and looks like that's the culprit. Is there a remedy for this, do I need to crank the u bolts tight? I can't seem to find a torque spec. Would adding some rubber between the axle and mounting be a good idea?

Why is the spring still underneath the axle? Or am I just looking at the picture wrong?

Loosen & remove the u-bolt & spring/axle perch mount. (With axle supported). Clean everything very well. Then put anti-seize on every spot where any parts were touching each other. Reassemble. This will solve it.
You must support the frame with jackstands while doing this. |
