Default Battery Question

Hey just a quick broad question regarding batteries for a electric ezgo. If I want to replace the batteries, can I get the same batteries that I take out of it and is it as easy as just simply replacing them? Are there any CHEAP upgrades I can do? Also, how much will new batteries roughly cost me? I just got this cart, its a 93 marathon, it runs great, just doesn't have a lot of power. It feels like the batteries are dying. This leads me to belive that the batteries need to be replaced. Any input?

I'm new to the site and LOVE it. Ive learned a ton just reading. This is great.

Top of the line Trojan 6 volts are the best type. They make a model T-605 that will do a good job and the price will vary $100. to $120. You can use cheaper batteries but you lose in the long run. Cheaper ones can be had at Costco & Wal-Mart. Do not get the regular deep cycle auto batteries. You should be able to get some salvage on your old batteries that will help a little. If your present batteries are Trojan-look on the NEG pad and you will see a letter followed by a number. If it is A it's January and so on. the number is the year of manufacture. If the batteries are older than 4 years you are probably in the market for new ones. When you replace be sure and draw yourselgf a diagram of the cables so thast you get them wired back right. If you have bad cableds now id=s the time to replace them. Try one of the sponsors for cable sets. $20/25. should do it. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.
