Default Key Switch Wiring

I have a 96 TXT PDS? (switch on the controller cover). The person before me bypassed the key switch and hot wired the cart (cart runs). All I have is the Yel/Wht from the switch which I found tied but not connected to another wire inside the controller box. What I need to know is how the cart may be hot wired? What does the Yel/Wht wire connect too? And where would the second lead from the switch connect to, once I run it? I will probanly know the answer to the last two questions once I know the answer to the first.

Download a service manual and you will find schematics in those.

Theres no way for anyone else to know how your cart is hotwired.

According to this PDS diagram that I got from the manuals that are listed in the stickies at the top of the ezgo electric forum the FACTORY wires going to the key switch are white/yellow and yellow/white.

Thanks Roady, that diagram makes sense. I skipped that one because of the performance option plug. Mine doesn't have one.

If you don't have the J2 plug then I don't think you have a PDS cart. I have never seen a PDS controller without a J2 plug.

I may be confused with what type of cart I have. For those wanting to know how the switch wires....In basic terms the key switch is just an open/ close connection of the reed switch wire that is part of the recepticle for your battery charger. If you have an open in the reed switch, the cart won't go. If you close or make that connection, the cart goes.

Ain't PDS if definitely a 96. It'll be a DCS.
If you did anything to the cart i.e. maint, testing, etc. WITHOUT switching to Tow/Maint there is a high probability you can damage the controller.

I believe there is a DCS troubleshooting guide and wiring diagram on the site. If you can't find it, I can email.
