Default adding two 6v batteries to my 2005 ezgo txt

okay my dad just bought me a 2005 ezgo txt golf cart and it will not go up this one hill in my neighborhood and if it makes it it goes like 2mph everything is stock on the cart and I cleaned off all corosion on cables and still to slow on hill now I was wondering if I could add two 6v batteries for 48v and 4gauge cables without having to put in a new controller and solenoid and those things just the 2 new batteries and 4 gauge cables for better hill performance

If your stock 6g cables are old and crappy, the 4g cables might help. They won't make a BIG difference however.

You will also need a charging solution.

If cables made no difference I would look at my batteries. What is the voltage of your batteries about 30 min after a charge and what does the voltage do when driving cart?
