Default Opinions on fixing? battery and cost

I know of a 94 EZ GO Medalist for sale for $500.00. Two of the jumpers cables are burned and one of the battery terminals melted about half way up half way through. It didn't melt into the battery itself. I have read the terminal repair link and it could be done. If this doesn't work, would it be better to replace all the batteries or just the one? Will the older batteries drag the new battery down to their level? What is a rough estimate for 6 new 36volt batteries? Thanks for any replies.

The repair will work fine. Mine was totally gone and it's worked out fine:

New batteries run about $100/ea if you shop around, so $600 for 6 new ones.

Heres the right way to do it.

Battery Terminal Repair

Do not mix old with new batteries. Yes, it will cause an imbalance and possibly damage. Your better off using a USED one. If you need an old battery go buy a used one from a golf cart shop.

72 each at sams for 6v. 10 core charge. Add tax.

432 + tax minus core charge for 36v cart. Take care of them and they should last 5-7 years. They also have the 8v for I think it was $80 each. That will get you up to 48v with 6 batteries.
