Default 2005 EZGO ST Sport Factory Wiring Diagram

Hi everyone, I have a 2005 EZGO ST SPORT 2+2 with a full light kit installed from the factory, I purchased a turn signal kit for this model, kit #5673 from EZGO, The turn signal is a Truck-Lite Model 900 and is set up with a harness with 5 pin connector which connects to the factory harness, and a pre-wired 2 pin flasher assembly with yellow wire going to the "L" spade on the flasher, The "X" spade of the flasher mount has a 10" black wire coming off of it with a female spade connector on it. A separate blue wire with a female spade connector is the last wire in the harness. The flasher is a #2450 12V 2P.
The cart's harness has the the 5-pin connector, and a red and a black wire with male spade adapters on the ends, These wires read 6.25 volts each, reading the voltage of the 2 wires combined is 12.5V. Being that I need 12 volts for the turn signal and not knowing where or how these wires are hooked up. I am at a loss. Has anyone installed this kit before? Any help would be great. Thanks,

Default Re: 2005 EZGO ST Sport Factory Turn Signal Install

I drilled a hole just under the glove box on the drivers side, just to the left of the steering column. be sure not to drill to far, you don't want to go through your glove box. I ran the harness through the hole to the right and installed a rubber grommet to protect the wires and seal the hole. The cart's harness has the the 5-pin connector, and a red and a black wire with male spade adapters on the ends, The red wire is 12V power lead and the black wire is a ground. When connecting the turn signal to the harness, The "X" spade black wire on the flasher assembly is connected to the red wire on the carts harness. The blue wire on the turn signal harness is for the indicator lights on the turn signal itself, but I chose not to connect this wire to 12V power because the indicator lights are always lit and would be a constant power draw. I choose to install a green ground wire from the turn signal to the black ground wire on the carts harness. I put a round terminal connector on the wire and attached it to the screw for the column strap for the turn signal. I then put a female spade connector on the other end of the wire and attached it to the black ground wire on the carts harness. I found this is not nessesary, but I felt better having the switch grounded. The 5 pin connectors just connect together, make sure you line them up correctly,(3 pins on one side, 2 pins on the other.) The flasher can now be installed. I found the front marker lights were already wired in ready to go. The back tail lights required the brown wires to be removed from the red wires on both sides of the cart, and the white wire on the harness for the left rear and the yellow wire on the right rear are then connected to the red wires on the lights. This will complete your turn signal circuit. Now just install your column sleeve to hide the wires. Having the cart pre-wired from the factory makes this install alot easier. I hope this info helps.
