Default Weee Got One!

To take a line from Ghostbusters, but I'm obviously talking about a cart. It's a 2004 EZGO TXT pulled from a course, restored, and particially accessorised by the dealer. It was easier to buy this way since the wife has trouble seeing the potential in something that needs a lot of work.

My first goal is to decode everything to see what I have. Also some of the numbers on the plate are starting to fade so I want to make sure I'm reading them right.

Model: TXTE - I assume this is a fleet/series model?
Serial: 2180162
Date Code: H1304

Gear/Diff - Spicer (Dana) date code 2 - 10 - 04

Motor: Advanced DC Motors
Part # A024012 73445001

Do these numbers seem consistant for that year/model of cart? Is this the stock motor?

Thanks.

The model number confirms it is a 2004. Where is your forward reverse control?

The F/R switch is down below the seat. Any idea about the motor?

2004 Fleet/Series cart, great candidate for an upgrade path.

Get out the checkbook!

Time to start working on the cart now that the avatar is working.

Last week I changed out the brake shoes. I still need to do some adjustment. Thanks for the brake procedure sticky.

The cart has the original 105 Trojans from new in '04. I think any battery work (they are full of water) is delaying the inevitable. I live in a small town and golf cart batteries are not a normal stock item around here.

I am also looking into a lift kit. Right now I'm leaning toward an Allsport 5" drop axle. My only concern is the stability on hills.

So two questions for now:

Where is a good source for Trojan batteries? I don't mind driving to upstate SC, Knoxville TN, or Atlanta?

Will a 5" drop axle lift kit be stable on hills?
