When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
Just like to know when will a Powerwise Charger start charging? I just bought new batteries and used them for about 20 minutes and checked them. They were still pushing 44.7 volts. Is this too much and the charger won't come on?

Re: When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
Well...it probly won't come on at all. A powerwise charger is for a 36 volt cart. A powerwise charger puts out ABOUT 42 volts based on averages I have measured. Sounds like you either added some extra batts or your running 48 volts....in either case it aint gonna work.

From another thread we know this is an 01 TXT... they only made em 36v I got the feeling we have 8v batteries in her Please remove a battery filler cap and count the holes .... post the results here... How many holes in each battery? Are they all the same?

Good Mornin' Scottyb

Re: When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
I want some of those
They may have been a little over charged ...... it won't hurt them. Atleast you got a fresh set...... sometimes they can sit on the shelf for a long time ..... just watch how low you go and enjoy! |

Re: When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
You must have "special" batteries...that all good except now you need a "special" charger to charge them if you wanna keep those voltages. . Post the make and model of these batteries.
If in fact they are overcharged it will be short lived. They probly tried to charge them with a 12 volt charger. |

Re: When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
So... I'm guessing the charger won't kick on until the cooled down a bit? Also, I checked the charging port on the cart. I'm not getting a reading off of the two prongs there. Am I checking it right?

Re: When will a Powerwise charger start charging?
I think you should be getting a reading at the charger port ..... maybe the reed switch is blown?

NO, the charger will not work until the voltage gets below at least 40-42 volts. Get a reading from the charger port. IF the reed switch is blown you can still check the voltage there. If not, something is wrong. |
