Default grounding battery pack?

Can you run a ground off of the negative side of your 36 volt system to the frame? For example....grounding for lights, ect.

You are probably fine. The later models are way more sensative. Does everything work okay? I did it with a '95 Club Car some years back. It started doin' funky things 'til I disconnected the ground from the frame. I mean,,, a friend of mine did this to his cart...

well, after i had everything hooked up, i went for a spin around the farm and started smelling hot wires. i stopped and looked and one of the cables coming off the resistor coils was almost melting. i drove it home and parked it and when i went to put it up it wouldn't do anything. i'm not hearing the solenoid click when i turn the switch on....is it possible that i burned up the solenoid?

That cable has a bad connection. If you used an automotive solenoid then yes, you probly did burn it up.

Have you disconnected the ground to the frame? You need to look closely where the wire was melting. I'm not real smart on the electrics, but someone here will be along soon enough. I wouldn't think the solenoid would go bad. I'm guessing a wire.
