Another PowerWise Problem
Hey guys,
i have to power wise chargers, and both will not shut off heres what readings i have brand new batteries 6.75v each Relay is not jumpered (on both chargers) red plug in side chager 40.5vs(on both chargers) i plug the male plug on the cart and i can hear the relay click (on both) plug in the ac and the chagers stay around 10amps on the gauge and they stay running, what am i missing? how can i get these to work poperly? thanks eddie |

left pluged in for 10 mins then i get worried so i unplug it, the pack volts is 40.5v on a 36v pack

Let's start over here. When you say it's reading 10 amps is that after a complete charge over night? If so then plug it back in and give it a 30 minutes or so and see if it drops down. One bad battery could also cause this condition since both chargers are doing the same thing.

Let it run .... 40 volts is not excessive. 36 volts is considered empty or less than 50% capacity of six 6v batteries. Your charger will finish up at about 42v and then an hour later you will see the pack voltage has settled down to about 38.2v reference the chart below. Voltage readings are best taken 30-45 minutes after the charger shuts off and the surface charge has settled to a true reading....

i guess that i was getting worried when it ran for a while, i left the one charger on while i went to the store came back home and it had shut off, il go out in a little check the volts of the pack,

Go ahead and put the other charger on it now. It should run for a little while and shut off.
