12v batt question
cany you run 3 12v batts insteed of 6 6v batts?

Yes, but they won't last anywhere near as long as 6 6V, in terms of both run time per charge and overall life of the batteries..

got it running on 3 12v but can some one help me out on how to wire up 6 12v to make it 36v. any and all help is appreciated. have 16 new 12v deep cycle batts for free and hate to waste them.

Also my charger wont charge the 3 12v batts. it will kick on when its hooked up to the 6 6v but not on the 3 12 v batts.

To use 6 -12v batteries you need to make two 36v packs. connect pos to neg on three batteries with two jumper wires going from pos to neg. That will make a 36v pack. Now do the same with the other three. Now you have two 36v packs. Connect both pos posts that have nothing connected to them to the pos cart cable using a jumper cable between the two pos posts. Connect both neg posts that have nothing connected to them to the cart neg cable using a jumper cable between the two neg posts.
