Trying to help a friend!
A buddy of mine as 05 EZ Go, 36v with the full BU torque conversion kit, ie: 700amp, 11hp, 4g, re-geared, etc. He lives in a very hilly area, the cart is performing well, he said he does lose some speed on inclines but overall good. He just told me his cables get too hot to touch!, but he smells nothing burning. I told him maybe 2g wires? I don't want to see him burn up his $1500(Ripped off). What do you guys think.

Re: Trying to help a friend!
I think he has a bad connection some where. Possibly the F/R switch contacts not making a good connection. Take each connection off one at a time...clean it real good with a wire brush or something...and put it right back on. Then move on to the F/R switch...take it apart and get a fine file and file the contacts just enough to get the arc marks off and take the shiny off all the way across the contact. Make sure to stay as square as possible and not so much you take the bevel off the contact.
One bad connection will wreak havoc on the whole system. |

Re: Trying to help a friend!
Also depending on where he bought his wires, I've been seeing a lot of poorly crimped wires come out of BU, and a few other locations. He may need to take each wire back off and re-crimp them...
