Default No Reverse, any ideas???

Been having some trouble lately. pggroves has helped get me rolling again, but I currently have no reverse. I'm looking for a anything to try to eliminate things part by part. I really don't know where to start. I've put the cart on jack stands and with the FNR in R, I push the gas and the tires move...forward. If I take it off the stands it doesn't have enough "juice" to move. Can anyone give me somethings to test/try so I can figure out what I need to fix/replace?
Thanks

sounds like batts would be the first thing, need to check your pack voltage!! this is for the "no movement on ground, but will spin on stands" as far as no reverse, maybe a bad fnr switch?? as far as rev in for, sounds like wires crossed

Batteries are fine. I can go forward all day . Just got no reverse. The thing that I'm confused by is when it's on stands with the FNR in R the tires will spin slowly forward. I really don't know what to try and I hate to just start buying parts just to try something. So I'm looking for ideas. For now I just go forward and leave plenty of room to turn around

I am not as Clairvoyant as PGGROVES You're gonna have to start over here with this one.... What year and type of drive system? ie: series, pds, dcs? Previous history? voltage readings? ...anything that is techy will help!

Good call...my bad. It's an 89 Marathon, Curtis 275 controller. Battery pack is around 38ish. I'm not too techy, but I can get you any reading that you think will help. I do have a question. On the FNR, you have post/contacts at 12,3,6, & 9 o'clock basically...3 is R and 9 is F correct? Just trying to figure out what post "should" have power when the FNR is in F or R.
Thanks

Since it runs fine in reverse I suspect a problem at the F&R try switching the F and R cables. Does that reverse the problem? If so it is definitely a bum F&R.

Runs fine in forward, reverse is my problem. I'd thought about switching the F and R cables, just didn't know if that would hurt anything. I'll give that a try tonight.
Thanks.
