Tomberlin Battery Life
Hey
We are very interested in purchasing a new or used Tomberlin EV. We have heard horror stories however, that the batteries may only last a year or two in some of the faster golf carts. We really like the appearance of the Tomberlin (AKA Caddyshack in Rancho Mirage, CA), but are even more interested in over-all durability. Our neighbor had a GEM, and had to replace the batteries twice in the three years he owned it. Has anyone had any personal experience with these carts??? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Rascal |

Re: Tomberlin Battery Life
Battery life is all about how you treat them, but no matter what you do its a finite life. You can determine how long they last to a point.
Being that its a vehicle, you are going to compromise some life because of ambient temp and charge/discharge cycles. I suggest you do a search here to see whats best for these batteries. My experience is with telecom batteries and we can control that environment better than you can in a vehicle. Look up MCT-4000 to see some serious lead acid batteries. |
