EZGO 36V dies intermittently
Newbie here...I have had an electric cart at my lakehome for six years now. I'm guessing it is about 10 years old. All of the batteries measure 6.8 volts without the charger plugged in. The problem is that ocassionally while driving it, the cart will just stop as if you let your foot off of the gas. If you let the gas pedal up and then press down again, it will take off and go again. I can't find any loose connections and have replace several of the battery cables that were corroded.
Any input or ideas is appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S. I have a meter and work with electricity daily...just not on DC carts! |

Re: EZGO 36V dies intermittently
There are some EZ GO's that do that. Mine turned out to be bad cable. It looked good and would read voltage when it was checked. I've heard of some others...never found out if it's the same problem.
I would start with cleaning the cables and battery terminals. Remove the cable clean it and the battery terminal and see if that helps. If it's not a wire, it would be a controller. Hopefully it's a wire. |

It could be solenoid heating up or may be microswitch under the throttle pedal, I am more inclined to be the solenoid.
Run the cart, if the solenoid gets too hot, then there's your problem. Another chance it could be controller thermal shut down. This happens if you are carrying heavy weight or while climbing steep hills. |
