Default Micro switch on fwd and rev switch has bee removed

The micro switch above item 38 on the attachment file drawing has been removed has been removed on this ezgo 1986 marathon cart. This cart was submerged in water for a short period of time, but during this time two of the complete micro switch wires were melted off. All switches test good I can jumper the solenoid and make it drive in forward but not in reverse. There is no back up buzzer on it.

Can any body recommend how to rewire with out the 2nd micro switch or should I reconnect as per this drawing. Is this the correct drawing for a ezgo 1986 Marathon textron model F0586.

Is the solenoid on the back side of the accelerator switch 36 volts? Is the key switch 12 or 36 volts.

Regards,

Ruworkin

I'm not a sparky expert but I would replace the second micro switch. I tryed to enlarge the image you posted but couldn't. From what I can see it looks like you have a diagram for a controller cart and not a resistor cart. Check the stickys at the top of the page and there is probably the correct one there.

No this is not the right diagram for your cart unless it has been modified to controller. IMHO the reverse buzzer is critical. I would not run a cart without this safety feature. Accidents happen in a blink of the eye. If you or someone jumps into the cart expecting to go forward and instead backs up and runs into, over, through....It could be a bad day. That said get the proper micro switch, if it is the reverse micro switch it depends on if your cart is a resistor, or a controller which one you need. Please install a buzzer.

Greetings all,

I did not notice until last night that I had installed the wrong jpeg file and immediately all responses identified this issue and gave me valuable input and finally the drawing that matches what I have.

What a totally awesome Forum.
