1996 Ez Go Txt Battery Wiring Help Needed

My husband is trying to put new batteries in our 1996 EZ GO cart. I was reading similar post trying to find him some help. The direction control is beside my right knee and we also have a tow/run switch under the seat. Can you help?

Just make sure Run /Tow Maint switch is switched to TOW/MAINTENANCE. Pretty straightforward changing out batteries. Is there a problem?

He couldn't remember how to hook up the wires and needed a basic diagram. I didn't know enough about whether it was a DCS or non DCS. Any ideas?

A 1996 cart with a Run/Tow Maintenance switch is a DCS. You can PM your email and I'll send you a couple of .pdf files with diagrams on the DCS cart.

Just make sure to switch the Run/Tow Maintenance switch to TOW MAINTENANCE while doing ANY work on the cart. The DCS controller is particularly susceptible to stray voltage.

basically make sure the first row of batteries positive post are facing foward and the second row batteries the positive is facing back. Then wire them + to -.

Hey--Wait for that PM to get the wiring diagram. One false move and you can toast some parts. When it is all finished keep that diagram as you will need it again. Don't take a chance on the + to - method unless you have done it before.
