Default 2001 Elec EZ Go TXT Intermittent Running

I have a 2001 electric EZ Go TXT that once running goes great. Often after stopping it will not go forward or back when stepping on the accelerator you can hear the solenoid click. I have an installed meter and when the accelator is pressed and the cart will not move the meter drops to zero. Sometimes I have to wait two or three minutes for it to work. Possibly there is a bad connection but I don't think that this is the case.

A "professional" ez go tech did the original troubleshooting and told me that the motor was bad this was after checking the batteries, and battery cables. I installed the new motor which is great and I like the extra speed when it runs but the intermittent problem still exists.

Of course you can imagine that I have no desire to go back to this ez go "tech" as it has already cost me more than $500.

Thanks

I think the difference maybe that before the motor exchange all you had to do to get the cart moving was push it forward and off it would go. This time it did not work that easy. I pushed it forward and stepped on the accelartor nothing. After pressing on the acceletor several times it finally started - this was a period of about 2-3 minutes. I parked it and played a round of golf came back to my cart and it took off right away. I have never had the problem when the cart sits overnight or for an extended period of time. It only occurs when driving for periods of time and of course not every time.

2001 is it got the F/R handle under your leg? If so go buy a new F/R cam with new contacts. You may even want to buy bigger cables. We just went through this with my neighbor cart.
Long story short cart would sometimes go and some not. Some in reverse sometimes in forward you never knew. Had to replace all the contacts in the F/R cam. Everything is fine now. Make sure you take each cable off and tighten the nut that holds them in place not the cable nut's the ones under them.

You are right on with the problem. When I removed the F/R cover the cables, switches, and board was covered with dirt, grease, etc. I cleaned up the board, removed the connections and cleaned each lug. Put everything back together and today I played a full round of golf without any problem. Thank you for your assistance. I did not replace the F/R cam contacts just cleaned everything. Again Thanks!!!
