Default Which controller do I get

I have a 36v 93 E-Z-GO marathon that is stock. I want to upgrade the controller, but I'm not sure which one will work with my cart. I had planned to get the Alltrax AXE 4844 that is non-programmable for stock carts, but when looking at the images of the Alltrax it only has 3 large post/terminals. The controller on my cart has 4 large post/terminals. Which controller should I get?

Also, I was looking through the different wiring diagrams as I was upgrading the cables on my cart to 4 guage, but I can't determine which one to follow. Can anyone tell from the images of the controller area which wiring diagram I should use?

Thanks

Truth is it doesn't matter. The A2 terminal isn't even needed on the stockers. You can use either one. All you have to do is both the 2 cables that bolt to A2 together and tape them up real good OR run one solid cable from the F/R to the motor.

4844 will be fine with or without A2.

You have a standard series type cart if that helps with wiring.

Just curious why you are upgrading the controller. Looks to me like you have a Curtis controller in there now and if it is the one that is 9" long (1205), it should be a 350-400 amp controller already, if it's only 7" long (1204), then it could be anything from 175-275 amps and I understand the upgrade.

I am upgrading because I have the 175-275 amp, the 7" long controller. Why does this controller have the 4 large post and the Alltrax only has 3 large post?

See Roady89's comment above, that 4th lug is redundant.

The AXE line is the programmable line of controllers. The NPX units are the stock replacement ones and are NOT programmable.

When you buy an Alltrax it should have a diagram in the box. Alltrax also has these diagrams on there site and they also explain what to do with A2. You don't need it unless you want plug braking. The A2 terminal on the stock controller is curtis's failed attempt at plug braking. I have never seen a stock plug brake option work. The plug brake option on an alltrax will throw you out the front of the cart if your not careful.

You DON'T NEED the A2.
