Re: ezgo needs torque
you can go up to a 800 amp controller if you are willing to replace the motor.
You can safely run a 400 amp controller on stock motor if you want. How old are the other batteries, What brand are they. You may only have weak batteries and need to upgrade to TROJANS to solve your problem. What size wires are you running. replace ALL with 4ga if you are running smaller. I have a 99 that I put 0ga wires on and pull 3/4 ton diesel around the farm with. it is lifted with 20 inch tires, not 22. All factory and 3-4 year old batteries. |

Re: ezgo needs torque
was told the batteries were 1.5 years old. they are deka pro masters and one new trojan due to the meltdown. i ordered a set of 2 ga. wires that will hopefully help, i believe it has 6 ga. now. found an alltrax 600 amp controller but can i use this with the stock motor. is regearing an option? thanks for the help

Re: ezgo needs torque
If you plan to use it hunting. Buy a combo. It's the only way to run. Buy everything you need @ one time if $$$$ allows it.
Motor/ controller wires everything you need. |

Re: ezgo needs torque
Sammy
I too needed/wanted more torque and this is what I have done. 1) went to #2 wires 2) went to a 500/600 amp controller 3) went from 36 to 48 volts 4) and went to the "Beast" motor I have everything done except install of the motor. It just came today and my buddy did not show up to help me install it. The box says the shipping weight was 58 lbs. I figure an extra sent of hands might be a good thing to have.... |

Re: ezgo needs torque
Sammy77, I live close to you(Snellville). If you change the controller, go to at least a 400amp and rated 36/48 volts(or higher). At 48v and 36v motor you will have good speed and torque. I'll be glad to give you ahand when parts are there. Shoot me a PM.
