new H/D solenoid install
I recieved my new HD solenoid today for the 99 ez-go txt series and want to make sure I hook it up right "seeing as how there is no paperwork that comes with it".Now if I am looking straight at the controller the stock one has large posts left and right and smaller posts left and right closer to the center.New solenoid, "if I hold the thing with all the posts on the top" it has large posts left and right and small post front and back.I need clarification please on the smaller terminals, I am pretty sure the large posts are still left on left right on right but maybe I have had to many beers, heck who knows.?

Re: new H/D solenoid install
Solenoids don't care which way you wire them as long as all the wires stay together. Take one big cable off and place on one of the terminals. Place the other on the other one keep all the wires that come off one terminal all go on the new one. Make sure you put the diode facing the same way it came off the old one.
If say the band on diode is on the terminal with red wires on it then it should go with red wires on new terminal. The two are the same just mount and look differant. Just keep everything the same as on the old one the terminals don't care which wire they get! It's a lot harder to explain than it really is!!! Here is a nice H/D one too. http://www.evcomponents.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=44 |

Re: new H/D solenoid install
Right on Andy thanks a bunch, I am going to give it a shot tomorrow and the lower HD unit you showed is the one that I am installing. Hey one more thing, the GC tech told me I could just throw away the resistor that is between the two large posts, is that true ?

Re: new H/D solenoid install
Some of the HD solenoids have interior resistors ... maybe that was what he was refering to?

Re: new H/D solenoid install
Yes it looked like the second one you showed was a White Rodgers 36 volt HD which is what I have. So if I understand you ,correctly I will need the stock resistor between the two large posts.

Yes, put the stock resistor back on the new solenoid.
