What year is your cart? DCS were built from 1996 to 1999 - F/R switch is below seat. PDS carts built starting in 2000 - F/R is in the dash.

Since DCS are no longer being made, then I would say the PDS is a better unit.

Mine is a 96 switch below seat. Is the PDS programmable or something. Not sure what the differance is. Anyone know what amp rating my stock 36 volt on a 96 TXT would be? Sorry, like I said I am very new to this but very ready to learn.

All plastic bodied EZ-Go's are TXT. Then there are sub-models called Series/Fleet, DCS, and PDS. The PDS is user configurable for performance.

A TXT is a chassis. A DCS is a drive system... Txt of that era came in DCS, PDS, and Series. DCS was a poor design and discontinued after just 2 short years. Although some say 4 years of production.... I have only found them in 1997 and '98 models. Here is how the 3 drive systems are easily distinguished. Good luck

The last 2 numbers of the manufactures code is the year, located inside the passenger side glove box, the 2004 and newer ezgos dont have a serial number plate in the box, they have a serial number sticker under the rear access panel behind the seat, and then on the driverside frame rail below the floor board, stay away from 96-97 DCS carts, there is a a reason they only built them for a short time,

DCS will have a F&R lever behind the driver's knee and a run/tow switch on the enviromental cover on the controller. The backside of the f&R looks round like a hockey puck.

PDS carts will have a Tow/Run switch with toggle switch for F&R on the dash

SERIES carts will have a shift lever like the dcs cart down by your legs, but it will NOT have a tow/run switch. Also the actual F&R switch is in the corner by the controller and there is linkage from it to the lever in the center.....
