Smile 1st buggie and need help with Identification!

Hello all!

I am new to the forum, just found it actually and I am hoping someone can help me identify what year/model buggy I have.

I just picked it up for my kids and I to build and play with, then maybe build some more to go play again! I am hoping it will become an ongoing project we can play with together both in and out of the garage!

It is an older one with 6 frozen unsalvagable batteries and in pretty bad shape from rust too. But I have brought cars back from worse shape. The frame is in resonable conditon and it gives us a starting point to start adding and modding from.

But first I need to determine its year and model to see what is available out there that is bolt on first.

Is the serial number going to be enough to determine this? It is 770617 T32584

Just guessing here but would it be the 617th cart produced in 1977? What about model?

I can post some pics if need be. Need to take some anyways before I tear into it.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide or directions pointed to for further help in determining what I am starting with here.

Going to go and read some of these forums now, looks like there is alot of good threads here!

Rusty? You said Sopncers was a good place to start! Is that a spelling oops? I can't find anything under a search of sopncers. Could you provide a link please? So far searching for parts it seems everything is 1980 plus. Was there a major redesign in 1980 or could some of the parts, etc work with a 77'?

Thanks for the info and reply!
