Default Which Batteries?

I got a newer cart recently, and I am trying to figure out which batteries to keep. The ones in my old cart are the Energizers that are a little over a year old, they have a date of 3/08. The ones in my new cart are the Trojan T105's, the guy said they are a little over 2 years old, but i cant find a date on them to verify that. Any recommendations?

Trojans are always a better battery, but for used? You'll need a discharge test.

I'm more concerned with the ground wire going to the frame I see in the picture. That is a NO NO

Trojan batteries will have a date code stamped on the Negative post platform. The letter is the month, the number is the year. B7 would be February of 2007.

How do I do that?

I was wondering that myself, I was wondering why the battery was grounded to the frame??? Heres a pic of the complete battery compartment.

Oh I forgot to add that the Trojan package, also includes one Interstate battery....so would the matching 1.3 year old Energizers, be better then the 5 Trojans and 1 Interstate?

It's because they have that as the ground for the lights / accessories. You need to make sure that no grounds are to the frame - ASAP. Just run the proper wire from each grounded accessory and bring it back to that batteries ground post

Find the date stamp first. A matching set is always ideal. Makes me wonder why one of the Trojans were replaced? They either are an older set, or maybe a terminal post was burned of before you got it?

Ok the Trojans are stamped G5, from what Ive learned on here, thats July 2005....the interstate battery isnt marked either, but has a similar marking on the negative post that say B9, do they mark theres the same as the trojans?

Anyway, do you think I would be better off keeping the energizers?
