Manuals for '94 Marathon
Looking around online, it appears I have the luck of owning the red-headed-stepchild of golf carts. I have a '94 EZ-GO Marathon electric cart. Ran fine for the last year, and all of a sudden I start hearing scrapping noise from the L/R wheel, shortly after that (yeah, I was being lazy and not digging into it immediately), the cart stopped. I looked back and noticed the L/R wheel was hanging out a little beyond the fender. I was pretty sure what was going on, and as soon as I pulled the wheel, I had my verification. The wheel bearing was gone, and the axle had slid out and disengaged from the differential. Now I'm pulling the rear apart, and cleaning/replacing whatever is bad. Thought a parts and service manual might prove helpful but, can't seem to find one anywhere.
HELP!!!! |

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
I would call EZ-GO and get the factory manual. Ask for the parts department. That is what I did a month ago when I bought my '92 Marathon. It was about $40.00. Have the manufacturers number and the serial number available.

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
I must be missing something. I went to your website, and browsed the manuals. Did not find either a service manual or parts manual that claims to include a '94 electric Marathon. Like I said, it seems to be an oddball. I guess I have to go to EZ-GO. Just pisses me off that there are so many online for free but, not one for me.

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
I have my '92 Marathon electric factory manual in my hand it is Manual NO.25122-G1 and says for Model Years 89-96. Purchased from EZ-GO one month ago. It is a owner's operation and service manual. Not a parts manual.

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
Turns out EZ-GO needed to setup the manuals in their system. I got the part numbers for them on the internet but, when I type them into the EZ-GO online search engine, it returns a big, fat ZILTCH!
Talked to them and they told me the manuals would be setup in a couple hours, so I could then place my order. $34.95ea. Thanks for the help guys. |

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
Katshot,
I've got the same model cart and it does seem to be a bit of a step child. Mine also happens to be the slowest one on the golf course. Hopefully I'll get that taken care of soon. That's one reason I've joined this site. |

Re: Manuals for '94 Marathon
All taken care of!
Ordered the rear wheel bearing kit, and both manuals from EZ-GO. Gotta say that their site could be better organized. None of what I needed for my '94 Marathon were easy to find on their site. Manuals and wheel bearing kits had incomplete application descriptions. In both cases, I needed to find part info off-site, and then try to have customer service verify that the parts I "thought" would apply to my cart, actually would. In all cases, they were able to confirm that the items I needed were in-stock, and would fit my cart even though the item descriptions stated otherwise. Unfortunately, cases like this are probably losing them business. Plus, I thought it was funny that the OEM website has inaccurate info regarding model identification. You'd think they would have the MOST accurate info on that. Oh well, bottom line, I should have my parts today since I live in eastern PA and the parts are only coming from NJ. |
