Is the PDS the way to go...aftermarket/performance?
I am looking to buy a cart to lift 4-6", 22-23" tires, will mostly be used for hunting hill country and some cruising the neighborhood. After looking through the site it seems as far as aftermarket part selection, most performance for the dollar the PDS is hard to beat. Am I missing something or is this the cart I should be looking for? I originally started looking for 48 volt club cars, but they dont seem to have the ease of performance mods that the PDS has nor the aftermarket following.
Thanks for the help Tanner |

Go with a 48volt cart. A 36 just won't cut it. There is a ton of upgrades for all carts. My opinion.....ClubCar DS 48v, 650 Alltrax, ES-58 D&D motor, lift kit, 22x11x10's or 12's. = Stump pullin wheelie machine!

Don't buy a PDS if you plan on offroading / lifting. Series 36 volt is going to be as reliable as you can get. Just don't skimp on the parts you build it with. Add a 2 speed motor, and 4 gauge wires. It really depends on your budget, what is available and what you are really going to do with it

Re: Is the PDS the way to go...aftermarket/performance?
I am looking to spend around 3-4k cart and upgrades if at all possible ... I don't really want something that will pull a wheelie, not that it wouldn't be cool and all. Just looking for something to get around in the woods light offroading and hill climbing. I live in central Texas so we have some hills, but at the same time I dont want to be underpowered and not be able to make it up a hill because of lack of power. I really want electric had a 4 wheeler and didnt enjoy it ..too loud!

I think you're going to have to up your budget some. 3K isn't going to get you a rebuilt 4 passenger lifted cart done right with new batteries. 4K is a good starting point. FYI - Our rebuilt 4 passengers are $5,495.00 complete. Where in Texas are you?

Mikes given you some good info. The 36v would be a good cart. 48v would give you more range and run time. Anyways WELCOME to BGW!

I live in Goldthwaite.. its north of Austin about 90 miles. I had figured closer to 4.. getting a decent deal on a cart and doing all the mods myself.

10-4 We could build you a great starter cart in that range. But at 4K, there wouldn't be a new ST Body and trim, but you would get Trojan batteries, Factory lift, HD springs, rear flip seat, 4 gauge cables, 10" aluminum wheels, 22' tires and everything else that supposed to be there on a properly built cart.

Re: Is the PDS the way to go...aftermarket/performance?
I found a 2006 ezgo txt for $1500 local original trojans, but well maintained. Would that be an alright cart to start my build with. If I remember from my research the txt is a controller cart which is not the most desirable, what is the best power/cost upgrade for it if I did get it?
Thanks Tanner |

Re: Is the PDS the way to go...aftermarket/performance?
No - you WANT a TXT cart to lift. Lift it, add 4 gauge cables and you're good. Spend you money on a better lift and tires, etc...
