Re: anyone tried the mix to renew batteries sold on e-bay?
I've read lots of threads on this and it all depends. Some people get some extra life and have no luck with it. It's not something worth spending money on and expecting like new batteries. It is just epsom salts and distilled water....There are people that have posted the formula here somewhere. Just a matter of finding it. If your batteries are good, I wouldn't do it. If they are almost dead with nothing to lose, well.....

Original post- dcannow I did the epsom salts treatment on a 96 48V with 4yr. old batteries. They checked higher at each charge, after third charge I was showing about 25% higher reading on hydrometer. I thought it was a worthwhile treatment. Takes a couple of hours and dirt cheap. You need a good hydrometer, squeez bulb, 1 & 1/2 gals. of distilled water, a three pound bag of Epsom salts (from Walgrens) and a 2 gal. plastic bucket. If you want the process PM me. This is the poor man's desulfication procedure. I think the snake oil on e-bay is a rip off!!. Here's one that had some luck...you can search all day long.... |

Do what you want - But in the end, you'll be buying new batteries...

Allright!!!!!!!! A TRIPLE post question about the same issue You seem to be really searching for something that will keep you from having to buy batteries Not going to find it Batteries have a life span - how they are maintained from the beginning determines their lifespan. There's no magic fix, potion or machine to revive old, dead and abused batteries...
