1984 rear spring shackles removal

Hello All!
Does anyone know how to remove the rear shackles from my Elec 84 EZGO. it looks to me that after I remove the nuts and the outer plates, the shackles have to remove toward the body. This is a problem because the sheet metal in the bag area is in the way. There are a few sheet metal screws in some of this area that I have removed but the metal is also welded in several places. I need to replace the rubber bushings for the springs. (I need a good source on the bushings also.) I can get the spring off but not the shackles.?.?.?

I am on my way to a lift and repaint as I got a good deal on some 23" tires!

The shackles should just pull right out the opposite way you took the plates off. They are just sandwiched in there. My bet would be to use a hammer and knock them out.

Doubtful you will get a reply from OP as the post is from 2009 and his last visit to this site was 2009 as well.

Start a new thread and make sure you include as much info (year, model, tire size, is it lifted) about your cart as possible.
