need help on what year it is

I just bought a EZ GO elec. cart and the ID tag has been removed, so I don't know what year it is. I want to buy the OEM service manual for it, before I rebuild it this winter. The EZ GO emblem goes in the middle on the front. It has thin trim strips on both sides just under the footwell (on the rockers). It has a Dana rear axle - so I'm pretty sure it isn't the 1984 to 86 service manual. I think it is either the 1979 thru 82, or the 1983 manual. How can I be sure which one I have? Thanks guys

All EZGO's have a serial number and manufacturer's code in or under the passenger side dashboard storage compartment. The manufacturer's code is used to determine the year the car was made, not the serial number.
It's pre-Marathon so that would make it an X-444. Without a number, I'm not sure how you tell unless you look in the stickies and compare wiring diagrams. There's probably not much difference in the mechanicals.

Thanks for the reply Dougmcp, I am aware of the Seral number/mfg. number info. etc. Unfortunately the metal tag that is supposed to be under the passenger side glove box, that has this information, has been removed and that is why I have to seek this help from the forum. I want to buy the OEM service manual for it before I rebuild it this winter. They are 60+ dollars for the manual so I would like to get the right one. I bought this for 300 buks and I'm having some fun with it!! What a great country we live in eh !! RJ
