Re: EZ Go nighmare
I just bought a '77 X440 a few weeks ago and noticed I had to stand on the brake pedal to stop.
I'm not a mechanic, but I removed the back wheels, banged on the drums several times to loosen up years of dirt and grime, finally convinced them to come off. Having removed the drums, I sprayed all the moving parts joints with Liquid Wrench. I was amazed at how much brake pad was still left, by the way. Once I re-assembled the drums and wheels, I started with the brake pedal and started spraying there. I got back to the turn buckle where the two cables split and sprayed everything there and let it set for an hour. The turnbuckle had plenty of tightening room on it, so I cranked it around a couple times and all seems well in the brake department now. I also sprayed liberally every cable/cover location I could find. Hope this helps a bit. |

Re: EZ Go nighmare
Spraying liquid wrench on the pads will reduce their effectiveness drastically.
Did it not stop good before you did this or after you sprayed them? |
